Can i get my drivers permit when i turn 17 and 1/2 without any previous drivers ed courses?

I haven't taken any of my drivers ed classes and figured if i could still take the permit test.|||You've asked a question where the answer depends entirely on location on a world wide site. You haven't given any clue as to where you are.

Add location, or accept the generic answer of: Contact the agency that issued the learners permit, and ask.|||i'm pretty sure it changes by state, but in the state i live in, no. you have to get a permit to do this...maybe it'll be better to wait until you're 18, at that point you wouldn't need to get a permit

ADDITIONAL INFO:

either way, its better to just wait until you're 18, because with the permit you'll only be able to drive with a parent, and it takes 6 months after you have a permit for you to be able to get your licence, and by the time you qualify for the licence, you'll be 18, meaning you wouldn't have had to take the permit test anyways, get it? just wait until you're 18.
