Do you need to take drivers ed to get your permit/license?

I am 15 years old and am looking to take drivers ed in the spring. In order to get my permit do I need to take drivers ed? Do I need drivers ed to get my license?|||It would be best to take it. Most importantly, you will be in a training atmosphere %26amp; will learn what you need to be able to pass your tests to get your license. Secondly, you can get your permit at 15 instead of having to wait until you are 15 1/2 and have to successfully pass a knowledge test to qualify to get your permit.
