I live in LA, and I'll be turning 16 in October. I want to know if I should just take drivers ed this summer and get my permit or just wait until october to get it? I don't want to take 2 1/2 of weeks of summer away though? And, how long would you have to wait after you get your permit to get your license?|||I1m with BIG D on this!|||You can get your class "E" permit now.
To become eligible for a license, you must:
* Be 16 or older
* Hold the permit for 180 days
* Show completion of driver's ed
* Pass the behind-the-wheel test
