I live in Denver Colorado and I was wondering if you could get a permit at 15 if you didn't take drivers ed class's?|||In Colorado, you must have finished the (30 hour) Classroom Portion of a formal Driver Training program to get your permit at age 15. If you wait until you are 15 1/2, you can get a permit after completing a shorter Driver Awareness class. If you take no formal training at all, you must wait until you are 16 to get a Permit.
In all circumstances, you also must take and pass the written permit test. There are 25 questions on the test, you cannot miss more than 5 and pass. No matter what route you decide to go for training, make sure you thoroughly study the Colorado Driver Handbook available at the Colorado DMV's OFFICIAL WEBSITE (not one of the many commercial imitators, whose materials are usually incorrect for Colorado's driving laws): http://www.colorado.gov/cs/Satellite/Revenue-MV/RMV/1212657832969

You must take drivers ed if you want to get your permit. They want to educate teens if they drive earlier than 18.
So i took drivers ed online also. I live in California so i looked at the options to see if they had one for north carolina and they did ^_^. In this course you take it as many times as you want until you pass, which im pretty sure you will because its pretty easy.

It took me awhile to find the cheapest one, but i finally did it. At first i was wondering if they were legit or not, but my friend completed it and he got his certificates in the mail so i did it.
The course is pretty easy. I think its 16 different chapters with lots of pictures and videos. And at the end there is a final exam that you must get 32/36 correct to pass. You can take as long as you want and take it as many times as you want until you pass.
It took me about 3-4 hours to complete the course. It was a rainy day so i had nothing to do :(. Its mostly common sense, for example if you see a pedistrian what do you do (Stop duh!).

I did so much research to get my permit =_=, but i was able to get my license when i was 17 :)
